TAMPA BAY RAYS.
man each year this team is hard to read, i didnt expect much from this team namely because i didnt think you can catch lightening twice in one bottle. with evan longoria out right now, im not sold on this team that much but i do love their rotation
PITCHING: like i said..im in love with this rotation they just seem to be the dark horse rotation for me. i know everyone is swooning over philly or even boston, but the main key for me is that this rotation is stacked with young guns and innings eaters even without matt garza. alright so, so far the rotation is wade davis/jeremy hellickson/david price/ jeff nieman/james shields. the reason why this rotation just speaks to me is the fact this rotation does have playoff experience. i know this is going on a limb here, but shields/price best 1-2 punch in a couple years.
HITTING: biggest loss with this team, you lose carl crawford and carlos pena so you just lost your main speed and power factors. another factor i see which can be improved is BJ upton, i know hes been struggling these last 2 years but im seeing a bit of maturity this year even though its early.  Now you have dan johnson taking over for pena, like i said i really dont know about this lineup hitting enough to make that big of an impact against the AL beast (thats right BEAST). not all is just bad with the lineup, theyre has been nice surprises with the likes of sam fuld and upton having a better year, and this team hasnt even had evan longoria back yet.
KEY ADDITIONS: johnny damon and manny Ramirez..hmm WHOOPS..well johnny damon now. well if he can hit in general maybe swipe a couple bags, couple key hits maybe show that power stroke. im sure itll be just fine, as for manny just its a pity what could of been.
BULLPEN: 2 major points for me that im kinda sold on the bullpen, well its borderline, but the 2 key players im looking at are juan cruz and kyle farnsworth. i know cruz is proven in his days in kansas city, hes 32 but he can still get it done. my other deal with this bullpen is when will they have a secure closer? i wouldnt trust farnsworth with a closing job or even 8th inning reliever (ask the yankees).
EXPECTATIONS: i dont see this team making the post season..just maybe a trade to get a bat. i just cant see it..maybe with that rotation just maybe
